My name is Ann French and I am the Reading Specialist at Cashman School. Together with Mrs. Pray, we are responsible for administering the majority of reading assessments three times a year with all students in grades one through four. The information gathered is carefully analyzed as we work together with classroom teachers in making important instructional decisions for each child regarding literacy needs.
We are also very involved in working with many students on a daily basis. My schedule this year involves working with nine groups of students daily in literacy instruction. I am in constant communication with classroom teachers, and student progress is monitored on a regular basis. I love working with students as they strive to become better readers and writers.
On a more personal note, let me tell you a little about myself. I have been working in the field of education for over twenty-five years in one capacity or another. After the birth of my second child, I decided to become an at-home mom until my daughter entered kindergarten at the Horace Mann School here in Amesbury. I have two children, a son that graduated from Salisbury University in Maryland and a daughter with her Master's degree in Marketing from Southern NH University. I live in Hampstead, NH with my husband Dan. I love to read, camp, and travel.
