It is an honor to serve as the superintendent of the Amesbury Public Schools. As I start my first year in Amesbury I am taking the opportunity to meet with multiple stakeholders in our community. The most common theme I have heard is that Amesbury is a community built on strong relationships and that our greatest strength as a school district is the amazing staff. It is my goal to highlight the great work they do as we engage in setting a collective vision for excellence.
Setting that collective vision is work that has already been underway here in Amesbury. For over a year, multiple points of community and stakeholder engagement have been used to create what we call a “vision of a graduate”. This is a collection of qualities and characteristics we aspire all students to develop. They are anchored in four pillars: Character, Community, Critical Thinking and Communication. You will hear and see much more about that work as we go forward, including student and staff spotlights.
It is truly an exciting time to be in Amesbury. I look forward to building on the strong work in our schools and sharing the successes of our students!
