Mr. Travis Baker

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

My name is Mr. Baker, and I am looking forward to being your next French and Spanish teacher at Amesbury High School. This is my third year at Amesbury High School and my nineteenth year teaching. I teach French 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as Spanish 1. It is my job to help you and make the learning experience engaging. Please see me for extra help. Most block A periods, I will be available for help. Please realize that sometimes teachers do have meetings during A block (7:30-8:00 AM). You should always check in advance for A block availability. I'm regularly after school for extra help as well.

The best way to get classroom materials is by joining my google classroom. Please see me if you need help with this. The links in the "homework" or "links" section of my web page will also take you to my google classroom lesson plans as well. (Parents & guardians please note that to view my classroom materials you will need to sit down with your son or daughter as the materials are only shared with students' school google accounts.)

If you plan to be absent or are dismissed early, you are still responsible for the day's work. Please see me in advance or before you leave to get your make up work. You can also email me. Please don't hesitate to contact me via email bakert@amesburyma.org. Should you be absent due to illness, please make up your work within the terms of the school handbook rules. In most cases though, the active link to my lesson plans is in your google classroom which will provide all information relating to classwork, homework and upcoming assessments as well as access to necessary handouts and classroom materials. You can also find the links to my lesson plans in the link tab of my webpage. In the resources tab, there are direct links to quizlets for each of my courses as well.

You should also take the time to carefully read the course expectations for all of my classes here. Course Expectations 2018-2019

I sincerely hope that you enjoy learning either the Spanish or French language and its respective culture. In addition, I hope our studies help you understand the English language more deeply. I only ask you that you be willing to try and not worry about making mistakes. While learning a new language can be challenging, it can be a lot of fun too.

Sincerely,

Mr. Baker
