My Home Page

  • Hello! My name is Cathy Mamakos and I am the special education teacher in the Independent Learning Center in room 112.  In the learning center, 5th through 8th grade students receive English language arts and math instruction in a small group setting.

Students also receive staff support in their general education classes. For some students there is a life skills and vocational component to their program.  This allows students to practice skills that will allow them to be as independent as possible. We have high expectations for all of our students, and expect that they come to school each and every day ready to learn!

In the Learning Center we work together as a TEAM and do our best to assure that each student experience success academically, socially and emotionally.  Our hope is that every student has the opportunity to participate in everything the middle school has to offer. Besides myself, the TEAM in 112 includes Cathy Coco, Susan O'Hala, Karen Provost, Violetta Clancey and Shari Cote. There are also other specialists and assistants who work with your student to assure that they are successful.

If you ever have any questions, please feel free to call me at 978-388-0515.

The best way to reach me is through email at: mamakosc@amesburyma.gov.

Here's to a GREAT School year!
