Message to Families from Acting Superintendent Elizabeth McAndrews
Good afternoon,
I want to start by saying that I’m honored to be Amesbury’s Acting Superintendent, even for a short period of time. We have all been through so much in recent months but I’m excited to help us move forward together.
I know first-hand how hard this year has been on our teachers, our students, our families and our community. We’ve faced some tremendous challenges, and we continue to make progress, but I know we have more work to do. Like you, I won’t be happy until all of our students are safely back in our buildings together.
You’re going to hear a lot from me in the coming weeks. During these transitions, I’m going to keep you in the loop about what’s going on and how it impacts our school community. I respect our students and parents, and you should never have to wonder why or how decisions are being made.
I am proud to be a part of this district, and I’m continually impressed with the level of dedication and commitment I see from my colleagues in every school. Again, I know this year hasn’t been easy for any of us, but please know that we are working hard to make the best of our current situation.
I appreciate your support and your patience during this time. Please reach out to me, your school principal or other district staff if there’s anything we can do for you.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth McAndrews
Acting Superintendent
