AHS Summer Reading!!
Summer Reading 2024
We encourage all students to read over the summer!
Honors students: For any student who signed up for honors English for the 2024-2025 school year it is mandatory. Teachers will administer tests in early September.
College prep: For any student who signed up for college prep English for the 2024-2025 school year, it is optional. If a student who signed up for college prep wishes to read their respective grade's assigned book, they can speak to their English teacher in September and take the test. It will be counted as an extra test.
Here are the assigned books per grade level:
Grade 9: Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas
Grade 10: The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore
Grade 11: The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
Grade 12: 1984 by George Orwell
