Foster Care Information

Under federal guidance, the Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) every school district is required to designate a Foster Care Point of Contact responsible for ensuring the educational stability and rights of students in Foster Care. The Foster Care Point of Contact consults with DESE Office of Stability, the Department of Children and Families, and other community-service organizations to support children in the Foster system.  At times when the family system and location of residence may be in transition, the Foster Care Point of Contact works on behalf of the student to assure decisions about their schooling are made with their best interest in mind.

If you have any questions about Foster Care services and supports in the Amesbury Public Schools, please contact:

Martha Robinson, Director of Student Services & Foster Care Point of Contact ata:  martha.robinson@amesburyma.org
