McKinney Vento/Homeless Information
Under federal guidance, every school district is required to designate a Homeless Liaison responsible for ensuring the educational stability and rights of students who are experiencing housing instability. The Homeless Liaison is responsible for consulting with DESE Office of Stability and other community-service organizations to support children at times when their housing comes into question. During these times, the Homeless Liaison works on behalf of the student to assure decisions about enr and transpollment, attendance, and transportation needs are made to maintain as much consistency for the impacted student as possible.
