We do not have online registration at this time. Typically, Kindergarten Registration Packets will be posted here by February. You can  print them at home or pick up hard copies at Amesbury High School, 5 Highland St. We strongly recommend registering your child by May 1, in order to be guaranteed your child receives a Kindergarten Screening.

Kindergarten screenings are typically held in June, prior to your child starting school. Your child will meet with one of our Kindergarten teacher's where they will be assessed on their academic, social, and emotional skills. This helps us balance needs in each classroom and to place your child appropriately. We strongly encourage having your child screened.

All of our Kindergarten classrooms are at the Sgt. Jordan Shay Memorial Lower Elementary School at 193R  Lions Mouth Rd.

Yes! Our school day is 8:30-3:00.

• The Amesbury Public Schools Preschool Program is an integrated preschool program that serves both children with special needs and typically developing children from Amesbury. What are the class sizes? Each classroom enrolls up to 15 children. Typically, 7 will be children receiving Special Education Services who have an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and 8 will be typically developing peers (“Community Peer Partners”) who pay tuition. 
• What are the hours? Classes are offered in both AM sessions (8:30-11:15) and PM sessions (12:15-3:00) 4 days per week. 
   

• PK Screenings: Screenings are mandatory. Your child will meet with one of our PK teachers where they will be assessed on their early learning, social, and emotional skills. 
• Age Requirements: Your child must be 3 years old to attend.
• Acceptance is not guaranteed
• Registration: Typically, PK Enrollment Packets will be posted here by mid-February and are due by the first week in April. This does not guarantee your child will be accepted.
• Where will my child attend PK? All of our PK classrooms are at the Sgt. Jordan Shay Memorial Lower Elementary School at 193R Lions Mouth Rd.

• If special needs are suspected a referral can be made to Amesbury Public Schools. Typically these referrals come from parents, Early Intervention, private preschool teachers, pediatricians, etc. Once a referral is received an assessment will be conducted. Following the assessment a Team Meeting will be held to determine if the child is eligible for the program.
