    Registration forms and payment is due 1 week before the first class. Late registration will be charged a $5.00 fee. Registration must be completed before beginning the class. Instructors may not take registrations. You must register for the entire session of fitness classes NOT individual classes.

     

    POLICIES & PROCEDURES

     

    Amesbury Adult Education program is a self-supporting program. It is under the auspices of the Amesbury Public School System. All fees go to run the AAEP.

    We do not send confirmations.  We only contact you if your class is NOT going to run.

    We don't cash checks immediately. We hold them until we are certain a class will run.

    NO REFUNDS are given after two-weeks of the start date of a class which is when we deposit checks, unless the class is cancelled.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

     

    Please sign in at each the beginning of each class session. Late registration will be charged a $5.00 fee. Registration must be completed before beginning the class. Instructors may not take registrations. You must register for the entire session of fitness classes NOT individual classes.

     

    Class Cancellations:  If school is cancelled, adult ed classes will be cancelled as well. Should bad weather begin in the afternoon I will send an email to class members about cancelations or call the instructor. Missed classes due to bad weather will be rescheduled or a voucher will be given for that session.

     

    Refund Policy:  No refunds are given after a course begins except for medial reasons. In case of cancellation of a class, full refund will be issued.

     

    Disabled Persons:  Amesbury High School (AHS) is wheel chair accessible and has facilities to accommodate disabled persons. If a class is held off site please inquire about accessibility.

     

    Liability:  Amesbury Public School system is not responsible for any loss or damage of personal equipment or any personal injury incurred while following an instructor’s directions. We are not responsible for personal property left in our buildings or at off-site locations. Students take courses at their own risk.

     

    Parking:  Parking is permitted in the parking lots at AHS or site of class on space available basis.

    Write Your Story: a Beginner’s workshop in creative non-fiction

    We all have stories to tell. From the games and ghouls of childhood, through the rocky climb through adolescence, to the ongoing adventures of adulating, our lives are rich with experience, trauma, triumph and intrigue. We’ll work together to uncover those stories which beg to be told and learn techniques to help write them in a way that conveys the feeling and message you intend for your audience. Needed equipment: access to google drive, journal, lap top or notebook for class/ computer at home

    Thursday, Nov 15  Root Vegetable Stew and Rice

    This vegetarian stew can be made in a slow cooker or on the spot. It even gets more flavorful as leftovers the next day. Participants may bring a portion of the dish home, so please bring a container to take food to go and a $15 ingredients fee to class. Recipe included. 5pm ROOM 135 Registration $15.00/ class

    Thursday, Jan 17 Gruyere and Chive Souffle

    Making a souffle may sound like a fancy and difficult task, but you will see it is fairly easy to make. This is a simple recipe that is sure to impress your dinner guests! Each participant may bring a portion of the meal home. Please bring a container to take food to go and a $15 ingredients fee. Recipe included.  ROOM 135 Registration $15.00/ class

    ZUMBA   Jessica Regis

    ZUMBA  Toning    Jess Regis The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba® Toning Sticks (or light weights), helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged! The lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks enhance sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core and lower body. In addition to sneakers and water, please bring either Zumba Toning Sticks (can be purchased online at zumba.com) or light weights (no more than 2lbs) to class.

    Designed for all levels.Modifications will be shown. Yoga postures to stretch, strengthen, and relax the mind and body.  Includes movements for strengthening the core. Bring a mat and water.

    Modifications will be shown. Designed for beginners and those who want to restart their practice. Practice simple and gentle Yoga postures that can increase your flexibility and strength. Also help relax the mind and body. Bring a mat and water.

      Barre   Nicole Cronin    Dance Studio          limit of 12 people .

    Barre is a combination of Pilates, yoga, aerobics and strength training. Each class is whole body oriented and focuses on lengthening and strengthening your muscles to sculpt your body without the impact.  Barre embraces all fitness levels and ages.  You will leave each class feeling successful and fulfilled.  You will need to bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and barre socks if you have them otherwise we will be barefoot everything else will be provided.
