Principal's Message

  • Welcome to the Amesbury Middle School!  My name is Michael Curry and I am the principal of the Amesbury Middle School.  The Amesbury Middle School is unconditionally committed to every student and continues its commitment towards providing every student with  a dynamic school experience.  In order to provide this kind of experience for every student, we continue to make every effort in building collaborative relationships with families and within the community.  Together we can help our students navigate through the many hurdles of adolescence.  I would like to share with you our district and school mission statements that are at the heart of what we want all our students to experience during the four years they will be a part of our school community.

The Amesbury School District is unconditionally committed to every child, ensuring that all students experience success through the development of attitudes and skills necessary for lifelong learning by providing the highest quality staff, meaningful learning experiences, and a vitally involved community.

Amesbury Middle School will offer diverse opportunities for our students to attain personal growth and success through a dynamic school experience. Teachers and staff aspire to provide innovative programs through collaboration among students, families and community. We will promote optimal academic achievement and positive social development in a safe and caring environment.

I am entering my 30th year as a member of the Amesbury Public School System.  My teaching career started at the Amesbury Middle School in 1986 as a seventh grade science teacher.  I held this position for 11 years prior to making the move into administration.  Then, from 1997 – 2000, I was an assistant principal at the Amesbury Middle School.  In the fall of 2000, I left the district to continue my growth in school administration which led me to Milford Middle School in Milford, New Hampshire.  In August 2002, I began my tenure as Amesbury Middle School principal.  My entire educational career has been working with young adolescents.  I am committed to this age level and understand how important our work is in helping young adolescents develop a strong sense of self as they continue their journey towards becoming a caring and contributing member of an ever-changing world.
