Coming and Going
Please click on the attached file at the bottom of this page for details and maps showing the traffic patterns during morning drop off and afternoon pick up.
IN THE MORNING
Student supervision begins at 8:15. Students eating breakfast may enter the building at that time. All others will remain on the front walk (in inclement weather/severe cold they will be directed inside). Bus students not eating breakfast remain on the bus until 8:23.
The morning bell rings at 8:23 and students will enter the building and go directly to their classrooms at that time. All students/families are expected to enter the building via the main doors. The exceptions to this are our Pre-K parents who enter directly into their Pre-K rooms via the outside door.
The late bell rings at 8:33. There is a sign on the counter in the office indicating if students are "on time" (green) or "late" (red). If the sign is red students must come into the office for a late slip.
Parents are discouraged from parking in the parking lot. The exception to this is our Pre-K parents. Our faculty is very large and we need all of the parking spots for the support staff who arrive for their 8:30 start time. Parking on South Hampton Rd between the parking lot and Rowell St, or parking on Rowell St itself are better options.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO ASSIST WITH MORNING CROSSWALK DUTY. TEACHERS NEED TO GO IN AT 8:23 WITH THE STUDENTS. PLEASE SEE MR. HELLIESEN IF YOU CAN HELP BETWEEN 8:20 AND 8:40.
IN THE AFTERNOON
Student dismissal begins at 3:00 pm and takes place in three waves. Students in the Recreation Department's After School program, and 'Walkers' are dismissed first. Walkers exit the building via the end doors near the Kindergarten playground. Parents meeting their Walkers should meet them there.
The second dismissal is for our bus students.
The third and final dismissal is for "Parent Pick Ups" and for the Boys and Girls Club. Please refer to the attached file for the traffic pattern. Parent Pick Ups come out the main door and wait on the walkway until their ride pulls up in front of the school.
Thank you for helping to keep our parking lot safe for kids and adults!
