Title One is a federally funded, regular education program that targets students who may need additional support in the areas of literacy or math. Every student is assessed at the beginning of the year and selection into the program is based upon the results. Our job, as the Reading Team, is to meet with small groups of students and work to strengthen literacy skills in one or more of the critical reading components: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and/or comprehension. Progress is constantly monitored and we work very closely with the classroom teacher.
