Amesbury High School's Mission Statement

Amesbury High School is committed to inspiring all its students to become problem solvers who take responsibility for themselves and their learning. Encouraging this journey toward excellence, the AHS community will support and work together with integrity, modeling acceptance, collaboration, and respect. School pride permeates the culture of AHS through time-tested traditions blended with student-driven innovations and initiatives.

Welcome to my  website. I am a life-long resident of Amesbury and graduated from AHS in 1989. In 1993,  I earned a B.A. in English and a minor in Secondary Education from Fitchburg State College. In 1998, I earned my M.Ed. from Lesley College.

I have worked in three schools in the district for the past twenty-six years. From 1993-1994 I was a tutor at AES where I worked within the school's Special Education Department. I then went on to teach eighth grade Language Arts from 1994-1997 at AMS.

Twenty-three years ago, I moved up to teach here at AHS. Within these last twenty-three years, I have taught grades nine, eleven, and twelve. Also, I have been a class advisor to the classes of 2001, 2006, 2013, and 2017. In addition, I was an assistant ice hockey coach from 1994-2013, and have been an Assistant Athletic Director  for the past nineteen years.

It is my hope that all students get involved within our school and challenge themselves to do well in all areas of their lives.

I can be contacted at 978-388-4800 ext. 2320 or at  steven.bastien@amesburyma.org.
